Message Stroker motors tend to have a better rod ratio. the longer rod causes less side loading on the cylinder wall from the piston. The downside is piston speed. I`ve built a few small block ford strokers in the past and they are an awesome way to wring more power out of a motor. Just make sure that the stroker it is complete and pay extreme attention to the block machine work, otherwise you`ll have (or could have, anyway)deck clearance issues. Hope that sheds some light for you!
